How affiliate links work

An affiliate link contains tracking information that allows a retailer or affiliate network to attribute an eligible visit, enquiry or purchase to EVDeal. The commercial partner pays the commission. EVDeal does not add a separate fee to your transaction, although the final price and terms are always controlled by the provider.

How commercial content is labelled

Where a link or piece of content is affiliate advertising and this is not already obvious, EVDeal aims to identify it clearly before engagement using labels such as “Ad”, “Affiliate link”, “Sponsored” or an equally clear explanation. A general disclosure on this page is not intended to replace labels beside relevant content.

Codes, referrals and shared benefits

A discount code or referral link may give the visitor a benefit, give EVDeal a benefit, give an existing customer a benefit, or combine these. The relevant page should explain the known benefit and any important eligibility or expiry condition. Always confirm the final terms on the provider website.

Editorial judgement and rankings

Commission does not guarantee inclusion, positive wording, a higher score or a particular ranking. EVDeal may include useful non-affiliate resources and may remove commercial links that become inaccurate, unsuitable or unhelpful. Some comparison results are determined by the filters or information entered rather than commission.

Sponsored placements are different

A sponsored or paid placement is purchased space and is labelled separately. It remains subject to EVDeal review, but it should not be mistaken for an independent recommendation or a guarantee from EVDeal.

Third-party tracking and terms

After following a commercial link, the destination website or affiliate network may use its own tracking technology under its own privacy and cookie information. Product availability, checkout, eligibility, warranties, cancellations and refunds are controlled by the third-party provider.
