THE ANSWER STANDARD · UK GUIDANCE
Useful steps.
Honest evidence.
UK ownership and cost checks. Your agreement, tariff and vehicle evidence determine the result.
A good answer should help you make progress before asking for assistance. We distinguish a documented procedure, a diagnostic comparison and a confirmed repair. We do not promise a fix that the evidence cannot support.
What an answer needs
- A real question and exact scope. The symptom, UK model/generation or contract, relevant handbook/software edition and what has not been verified.
- A useful first check. Clear prerequisites and a safe order. Change one thing at a time; avoid resets, purchases and dismantling without a documented reason.
- An observable result. What success looks like, what another result means and which branch to follow next. A test that narrows a problem is labelled as a test.
- Evidence you can inspect. Primary documents, named edition/section where relevant and a genuine check date. Owner discussions identify questions and experiences; repeated posts are not proof of a universal fault or cure.
- A proper unresolved path. State when to stop, what to record and what specific check to request. “Contact a dealer” alone is not a complete troubleshooting answer.
- A connected next step. Links must match the actual outcome and vehicle, with free guidance kept separate from affiliate and sponsored placements.
Owner-confirmed experience matters
A procedure or workaround personally confirmed by our editor or independently confirmed by multiple owners is useful first-hand evidence. We keep that experience, identify the model/software and conditions where known, and distinguish it from a manufacturer-documented procedure. Absence from a handbook alone does not disprove an observed fix. A specific safety conflict or model mismatch needs explanation, not silent removal. Confirmation on matching cars still does not promise the same result on every vehicle.
What a review date means
An evidence-check date records editorial review of the cited material. It does not mean we physically tested your vehicle. Software, tariffs and service arrangements can change earlier than the planned review. A correction or credible new evidence triggers review without waiting for the date.
Help us find the gaps
Use the feedback on a guide to flag unclear steps, a model mismatch, outdated details or an unanswered problem. Counts help prioritise review; they are not fault statistics or a public rating. For personal correspondence, use the site's existing contact route.
Private check-record notes are not sent to us or saved automatically. Copy your note before leaving. Feedback stores only aggregate guide/revision/category votes; no raw search questions, note text, names or IP addresses are kept in that feedback database. Standard hosting logs still apply.
Unanswered search topics
MyXPENG, MyMGEV and EVDeal classify a search miss into one of eight fixed topics in the browser. The counter receives only that topic, never your question. Counts can include repeated requests and are not unique owners or verified vehicle faults. MyBYD retains its existing private, signed search-feedback system. No new cross-site tracking or paid analytics service is used.
